The contract carpet layer won the nin-number jackpot on Thursday 18th February, yet didn’t know he had won the jackpot until the Fridaywhen he visited the pub to check his ticket.
“I walked into the pub to check my ticket, like I always do, only to be told that I’d won,” the man said. “I was a bit shocked to say the least.”
The man won with his own special numbers - 55, 56, 57, 65, 66, 67, 78, 79 and 80 - which he has been playing for six months.
“If I don’t have any luck with the numbers I’m playing for a while, I just change them,” he said.
Despite having hit the jackpot once, the Petrie local doesn’t rule out his chances of winning again, saying he’ll keep playing the game no matter what.
The man said he will use his winnings to pay off some bills and reduce his mortgage.
