Kallangur ‘Keno King’ wins $145,000 in fifth Keno jackpot!
A Queensland man from Murrumba Downs known as ‘The Keno King’ at his local, the Kallangur Tavern, won the $145,000 9 number jackpot on Friday the 31st October - his fifth Keno win in recent times.
Erroll Mullaly, a plant operator who was on two week’s break from his job in Cloncurry, was enjoying a drink with some mates when his numbers came up, landing him his biggest ever Keno win and the biggest for the Kallangur Tavern.
“They call me The Keno King around here,” Erroll said. “Now I really deserve the title.”
Erroll, who says he plays Keno whenever he’s “in civilisation”, won the 9 number jackpot on the very last game of a 20 $1 game ticket with the numbers 1,19,24,45,48,69,72 and 80.
“I’ve played the same numbers for two years now,” he said.
Six of those numbers came up three times in seperate six from six number games, winning him $1,800 each time.
“Then I got seven out of seven numbers eight months ago and won $12,000,” Erroll said.
The self-confessed Keno fan turns 65 in February next year and said the win would take him a step closer to retirement, although he wasn’t in any hurry to give up work - or Keno.
“I work 200km from any town, so my two week’s off I come in (to the Tavern) with mates and have a game whenever I can. I reckon I still will,” Erroll said.
“I’m still reasonably fit. I prefer to keep on doing something. When you stop, then you start going downhill,” he said.
“But I have got a little retirement account and this will help: this might buy my motor home for me.” Â
