Just 24 hours after winning a whopping $2.25 million Keno jackpot at the Redcliffe RSL Club on Saturday 27th March, Colin headed out on his regular milk delivery run, finishing up on Monday morning then popping out for breakfast with his partner like on any other day.

Despite winning the massive jackpot - the biggest in Queensland since August 2009 - the 65 year0old said he wasn’t ready to embrace retirement just yet but would definitely like to have a few more holidays.

“I don’t want to stop work because I like what I’m doing. I’d like to have more holidays though - I’ve got my kids and grandkids to visit in Victoria,” Colin said.

Colin delivers milk for local business Spresser’s Dairy Distributors of Clontarf, working three shifts a week - Sunday night/Monday morning, Tuesday night/Wednesday morning and Thursday night/ Friday morning.

“Saturday is my day off so that’s when I go to the club,” Colin said.

“I come down every Saturday and just have a little bet and a few beers with my mates,” he said.

It was while the father of four and grandfather of seven was enjoying his regular Saturday afternoon game of Keno and a drink with mates that his 10 Keno numbers came up, sending him into a frenzy.

“I’m just trying to settle my heart rate down,” Colin said moments after claiming the $2.2 million jackpot. “The whole club is in an uproar.”

Colin notched up the jackpot on the sixth game of a 10-game ticket, investing just $1 per game and using his very auspicious numbers - 42, 43, 44, 52, 53, 54, 61, 62, 71 and 73.

Redcliffe RSL Duty Manager, David McClelland, who witnessed the excitement of the big win, said he was thrilled a long-term club member and Redcliffe peninsula local had won the jackpot.

“It’s such a fabulous feeling for us all at the club to share in the thrill of a $2.2 million jackpot win,” David said. “We’re even more excited that it went to a long-standing and active club member like Colin who has been with us for a decade now.”

“Colin always comes in with his friends and they always have a game of Keno and a drink together: it’s just fantastic that they’re all here today to witness his big moment and celebrate with him.”
